Tho King of Siain is visiting Germany, and has been entertained at a banquet by the Emperor. The King thanked the Kai3er for his great help in establishing post offices, telegraph lines and railswaya in Siam. The bubonic plague is increasing in severity in the Poona district. Professor Haffkine'a system of treat* ment by inoculation is being largely used as a protection against the scourge.
