Greece and Turkey.
Lord Salisbury refuses to acquiesce in the Turkish occupation of Thessaly pending the partial payment of the war indemnity. Some friction has arisen among the Powers upon the question. Britan's disinclination to the proposals of the Powers for the evacuation of Greece is based on the conviction that the withdrawal by instalments will indefinitely postpone the evacuation of Thessaly by the Turks.
