London. Private Ward, of the Ist Regimen* 1 of Devonshire Volunteers, won the Queen's Prize, with an aggregate score of 304, Private Thompson, of the Queen's Rifles, Edinburgh, was second with 802, and Sergeant Scott, of the Border Rifles, was third, his score also being 302. The New Zealand Shipping Company ha 3 ordered two large steamers for the produce trade. Mr Seddon, as the result of en quiries, states that the shipping companies intended to reduce the dairy produce freights, placing them on a similar love] with meat freights. The total money prizes won by colonials at the Bisley meeting were :— Victoria, £218; New Zealand, £144 ; Queensland, £84. Howe of Wellington was twelfth in the city of London Corporation contest, winning £5. In the House of Common 3, the Right Hon Joseph Chamberlain stated sinoe the Transvaal Volksraad had repealed the Immigration Act and resolved to amend the Aliens Expulsion Act, the urgent disputes between Great Britain and the Transvaal had been removed.
