Invitations to the Premier.

The hon. lecretary of the Piccadilly Club wrote laying that the committee wishing to show their appreciation of Her Majesty's invitation to Pre mien of the British colonies, desired to offer Mr Seddon the privileges of honorary membership daring his residence in the United Kingdom daring the celebrations of the Diamond Jubilee* The secretary also said that the rale precluding honorary members from entertaining lady guests had been specially rescinded in bis favour.

The secretary of the London Chamber of Oommerce has written to the Premier confirming the invitation extended by cable to him to attend the banquet of the Chamber in connection with the celebrations. The letter goes on to explain that the London Chamber of Commerce, which has been bo prominently associated, particularly through its congresses of Chambers of Commerce, with disouesions on many important Imperial questions, thought it desirable to join in the welcome to be extended to the first representatives of the various British self-governing colonies.— N.Z.
