"Trilby."
On Thursday evening the stage version of •• Trilby " was giv^n to the public at the Hill, by Mr Collett DjI»8od and Miss Mivne ThorntOD, -.ipportnd by a capable company. The book is so well known that there is no need to recapitulate the plot, and as Mr Oollett Dobs >n took the part of Svengali, and Miss Idrene Thornton was " Trilby." it goes without saying that close attention was given to the views of the author. The company was well patronised, and they can always depend upon a good house The other characters were as follows :-" Taffy," Mr W. Power; "The Laird," Mr Chaa. Hill ; " Little Billee," Mr E. Brinkman ; " Gecho," Mr A. C. Chad" wick ; " Rev. Thomas Bagot," Mr W. Markham ; " Miss Bagor," Miss Ainy Rowe.
