Manawatu Rawing Club.

The first heats in connection with the above Club for !he cup presented by Mr Curti3 were decided on Tuesday afternoon last. W. Symons easily defeated Bradbury by six lengths. J. Gillespia defraf-ed L. Sfcansell, the latter retiring when half the distance had baen rowed. W. Howan defeated J. Robson by two lengths. J. Curmncn field guve G. Lamb a byp, and B. Young also gave 0. Collins a bye. The drawing f.>r the second heatß will take place to-night, and ba rowed off on Tuesday next. As tho remaining competitors are well matched, there should be some close finbhes.
