Messrs Pascal's Hemp Mill Burnt.

Host unfortunately Messrs Pascal Bros. Mill near Eereru was totally destroyed by fire at two o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Some tow was burning near, and a breeze springing up, sent a burning piece of it right into the scutcher shed. The engine was kept going in order to utilize the water supply from the pump; but the fire gained ground so rapidly, that soon no one could roach the engine to stop her. So besides the three tons of fibre destroyed, and the loss of the mill buildings, the engine and machinery were considerably damaged. Much sympathy is felt in the neighbourhood for the owner, and the contractors who were connected with the mill.
