Disqualification of Councillors.
A late election to our Borough Council placed a member upon its Board who is outspoken and apt to 44 want to know you know " more than is thought necessary he should know. A happy thought struck some of the objectors to this Councillor's inquisitiveneßa that as ha held a lease from the Borough hia seat would soon be rendered vacant. We always regret to damp anyone's hopea but there is nothing clearer that though a Councillor may not be concerned or participate in any contract or work for the Council exceed--1 ing ten pounds altogether in any one year, the same subsection states " provided that the leasing of land to or from the Corporation of the Borough, or the lending of money to such Borough . . . shall not constitute a disqualification under this subsection." This puts the matter into a nutshell.
