The Kinetoscope.
This evening Mr Whilehonse will exhibit at Wall's late bakers shop, Edison's I»te3fc marvel, the Kinetoacope. The instrument is magical in its effect as the observer not only hears the voices of the singers, the music of the performers, but has placed before him their every, movement. This wonder has been ob tainad by the invention of Mr Edison which takes photographs continuously at the rate of 46 impressions in a second, and 1610 in thirty-five seconds. These are illuminated by an eleotric light, and sent in the Xinetoscope whirling past the eye 9 at the same speed, and thus perfect lifelike motions are reproduced and represented. Of course the apparatus is one that must be seen to be understood and enjoyed. We have had a phonograph here before, but the Kinetoacope never. It is a revelation and all should visit it if only to see the wonders of the age we live in. There is, in conjunction with the Einetoscope a loud phonograph, with a large selection of songs and music to choogj from The instrument has been on exhibition at Lavin and Shannon quite recently and has attracted very much attention and given much enjoyment, and we may expacfc the same verdict to be given here.
