Magistrate's Court, Palmerston North.

On Tuesday William Coombs, was committed for trial on a charge of accepting JE33 from G. P. Scott in consideration of his abstaining from giting information or evidence in a oharge of sheep-stealing against Herbert Scott. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £250 each. G. J. Scott, for attempting to defeat the ends of justice by endeavouring to dissuade W. Coombs, by moans of a bribe of £88, to abstain from giving evidence in a oase of sheep-stealing, preferred against Herbert Scott, was committed for trial. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £260 each. Mr H. G. Moore prosecuted for the police, and Sir Bobert Stoat defended in both cages. : '
