Otaki Maori Racing Club.

-♦ ■ ■ The Otaki Maori Racing Club has had its programme passed by the Metropolitan Club, with but a slight alteration. The eight races on the programme offer great inducement to home owners, and we have no doubt the November races will be as successful as ever. The Club intend to have the racing track put in thorough order for the meeting, which work has been left in the hands of Mr F. Bright. This gentleman is having the track rolled with an iron roller weighing a ton (imported for the purpose), after which he intends to sow it down in grass. The Club will have the grand stand and Stewards' stand painted before their next meeting, which will give the buildings a greatly improved appearance, Mr Bright is also baying a training track made in the racecourse grounds, which will be a great convenience to our local horses.
