Mr Ransom.

We very much regret that Mr Hansom has been so patriotic as to give way, in the matter of politics, to Mr Kellow. We think our Prohibition friend 3 have made a mistake as all chance of their securing a representative of their pet idea is now gone. Mr Ransom's other qualities went far to secure the acceptance of prohibition from him, but the iiea of asking the electors of thia district to accept an unknown and untried man, simply because he believes in prohibition, is merely asking to be beaten at the polls, and badly beaten to. Tho Good Templars have been unfortunate in having more candidates than were necessary, but we regret to learn that some of those who urged Mr Ransom to come forward were amongst the first to urge Mr Kellow's superior claims. Mr Ransom's victory will come, though be is not a candidate, at the announcement of the poll.
