In order to mark their sense of horror at the recent massacres, all the Embassies have declined to illuminate their buildings as usual on the 21st instant in honour of the Sultan's birthday.
Th 9 Cretan's are delighted at the Sultan of Turkey allowing a bare majority in the Cretan Assembly to prevail, excepting on questions of constitutional reform, when a twothirds majority will be insisted on.
America is sending representatives to Turkey to enquire into the outrages on American subjects, and to enforce payment for their losses at Khar put and Marash.
