A Meeting.

At a meeting of oertain residents to-day at the Manawatu Herald office, those present formed themselves into a Committee to encourage the visit of the public to the Hi*ad* and the river, wilh power to add to their number.

It was resolved that Mr Thynne act as secret:i ry pro tern.

It was resolved that Mr J. R. Stonseil be chairman.

It was desired that that those willing to join the committee should signify the same to the secretary. ' The next meeting was fixed for Tuesday night at Mr Stansell s Hotel at 8 o'clock.
