The German Emperor's yacht Meteor collided with Baron Zedfcwitz's Iselde in the Solent. A falling mast killed the Baron and swept the crew overboard, but they were rescued. Mr Timothy Healy, speaking in Dublin, declared that the reunion of the Irish Party was impossible* while Mr Dillon remained leader. Dr. Nansen states thet he will not repeat the experiment of trying to drift across the Pole. His experience on the last expedition shows him that it will be easier to accomplish the journey in sledges from Frane Joseph Land. The Times suggest that Norway, England and Australia should subsidise an Antarctic expedition to be commanded by Nansen. Messrs J. H. Wilson, Ben Tillett and Tom Mann are carrying on a vigorous propaganda among the seamen in the western ports of Europe. It is expected there will be a gene ral strike when a million men are enrolled by the unions.
