» - POXTON v. KIA TOAS (OTAKI). This match between the above Clubs was played this afternoon on the Racecourse, and resulted in a victory lor the Kia Toas by five points to nil. The following were the teams : — Foxton— Full-back, Peta Rewita ; halves, Wyley, Paddy ; three quarters, P. Robinson, Tuna, F. Dunu ; forwards, Webster, Lee, Desmond (capt.), Lyons, Lenham, D. Gardner, Armstrong ; wing forwards, A. Symon?, E. Dunn. Otaki— Full-back, Kiriona; threequarters, Tuhera, F. Cootes, Speaki man ; halves," Whata, H. Bright j (capt) ; wings, Robinson and Bevan ; 1 forwards, Ciark, Terry, G Ropata, , McClelacd, Riri, Whioi and Moe-*. In the first spell F. Cootes scored : a try after a dashing iud, and ; Eiriona placed a rather difficult goal. ■ The second spell was stubbonly conj tested and no score resulted, although ! Foxton had much the best of it. I The game was rather slow from a spectator's point of view, there being a deal of unnecessary disputing and ! wrangling. Mr Little filled the duties of refereee, and Messrs Ennis and Nepia ! line umpires.
