At the usual weekly meeting of ** Try Again " Lodge on Thursday evening a very pleasing ceremony was performed by Bro. Stewart. At the beginning of the term Bro. Stewart offered, as Chief Templar, a medal for the member who would •ucceed in introducing the largest number of candidates to the Lodge. There were several competitors but the prize fell to the lot of Bro. 0. Austin, and Bro. Stewart presented the medal, a very handsome silver cross, on which the name of the Lodge, the name of the recipient, »nd " for zeal " was engraved thereon. The medal was from Messrs Littlejohn's factory and was procured through their Agent in this town, Mr Alf. Fraser. Bro. Stewart made a practical little speech on zealousness, and Bro. Austin replied in which he expressed bis desire to continue in the good work, and thanked the donor for his gift. One candidate was initiated, and the Lodge is in a good working state. It was further announced that Bros. Westwood and Stewart would give a similar medal for the present quarter on similar conditions.
