Two thousand Turks forced an entry into Herakleion, despite the efforts of the officials, and the Russian vice-Consul was assaulted. A. Leipsic newspaper states that Prince Hohenlohe has resigned the Chancellorship of Germany. The German press refer unfavourably to the acquittal of Major Lothaire. Two attempts have been made by Tarkish troops to cross the frontier into Bulgaria at Ehaskti, but they were fired on and compelled to retire.
