Mukaka River Board.
— . «>_ A meeting of the above Board was held at tho Library buildings this morning at 10 80 a.m. Present — Messrs Gardner (Chairman), G. Nye, Langdon and Govver. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed Mr Gardner reported that he had seen the Colonial Secretary on the matter of abolition of the Board. He had said 'he matter was settled ; as far as necessary, but until the money in hand was divided it would not be wise to gazette the abolition. It was decided to allot the balance of mon,ey in hand to the ratepayers at 4s Gd in the £ for the Motoa subdivision, and 9* 9i in the Jfc> for the Wirokino subdivision, i Proposed by Mr Nye, seconded by Mr Langdon, That the balance on hand af;er the dividends to ratepayers as per resolution of 27th Nov. 1896, be applied aa follows:— The sum of ten shillings to the Library Committee for rent, and the balance as a bonus to the secretary. Carried. Proposed by Mr Gowev, seconded by Mr Langdon, That the Colonial Secretary be requested to gazette the abolition of the Mukaka Eiver Board Board to date from Ist July, 1896. Carried.
