In the rout of the Dervishes near Akasheh the Egyptian cavalry behaved gallantly, aud killed thirty of the enemy. The Dervishes' riflemen would not fight, and retreated. There is difficulty in transporting stores, food and medicine to Wady Haifa owing to the enormous heat now being experienced in Nubia. 03man Digna's retirement from Suakim was owing to the cold reception by the local chiefs.
