The Irish Land Bill will be introduced in the House of Commons on Monday, , The Standard states that recogni* tion of the right of purchase by the occupying tenant will be the chief principle of the measure. In the House of Commons, Mr Gerald Balfour, Chief Secretary for Ireland, introduced the Irish Land Law Beforni Bill. The Bill gives tenants facilities for the purchase of their holdings, allows them two years in which to redeem arrears of rent* leaving the landlord free to recover the remainder through the Court ; fixes the specific value of the tenants' interest, extends the term for repayment from 49 to 70 years, allows evicted tenants to arrange with the landlords for the purchase of the farms, the Courts to decide the value of improvements, with the right of appeal. Mr Morley, ex-Chief Secretary for Ireland, said that unless the session was greatly prolonged five-sixths of the Bill would be thrown overboard. Mr John Dillon, Leader of the Irish Party, said the measure would be a grievous disappointment to the , Irish people. The Ninth Lancers proceed to the | Soudan.
