In the Manawatu Times' report of the match between Oroua and Warrengate, speaks very highly of our players. The first goal was secured 14 by clever and unselfish play ;" Oroua secured another goal "by splendid play on the part of McLennan, who inatlo a clean drive through the posts from a very difficult angle — the blow being delivered over the n ek of his pony -the best stroke of the d*y :' amiin "on the third occasion the ball was just about to roll through the goal when Gower oame at a hand gallop and struck the ball into the field amidst loud cheer* ing, following up his advantage by rushing tha ball down to the opposition goal, and only failing to soorr by losing his stick." On Thursday the Christchuroh team beat the Hawkes Bay team by 11 goals to 8. The Manawatu team beat the Ran* gitikei team by only two goals, the score being 7to 5. The game was . the fastest yefc played in the tournament, and Rangitikei No. 2 fairly electrified the spectators by the grand stand they made against the present champions. Yesterday the Junior matches were played when Wellington beat Wanganui by 7 to 5, and Wharerangi beat Warrengate No. 2 by 4 to 2. This afternoon Oroua plays Rangitikei No. 1, and Manawatu meets Chrißtchurch.
