Himatangi-Motuiti Races.

On Tuesday afternoon the pro gramme put forth by the Natives of Motuiti was gone through in a highly satisfactory manner. The programme had been approved by the Metropolitan Club of the distric, subject to the conditions that no totaiisator was used. The course is the well-known one between the settlement and Ruiri's house. It was in good order. The attendance was good, and the entries for most of the events large. There were no accidents and only one protest, which was raised owing to the horses Lady Loch and Slave Boy running inside the course just at the post. The stakes were awarded to Aconite, the third horse. Capital time was kept, the day was beautiful, and the racing good, so that all the promoters can be complimented on the day's sport.
