It is Bad to be Dry.
A visitor to Foxfcon caused sad disappointment to those- who are always dry. He, the distinguished stranger, was staying at the pub, doing " the grand " for a day or two until his cash ran out, even then his intentions were hospitable if his credit was bad. It was early morning, he looked out of the front door and saw, what may every day seen, three men anxious for a " morning." " Come in my lads and have a drink " said the visitor. No need to repeat the invitation. At the bar drinks W-re called for when it became noticeable that ths visitor was wanting. " Who's to pay ?" queried the landlo.d, " why so and so " cried the trio. "Oh no ; cash is what I want" said the man of beer. A Beirch party was detailed to find the g .od-hearted stranger, and he ex plained the impossibility of being p-esent just at the moment, but, "go in my good fellows and the 3 inks will be all right. I will be in in a second," so he was, but it Was in the morning train and not the bar, and the thirsty three had a mounting conversation in lieu of driuks, » Pit, not your faith, &o."
