Parisian Fashions.

(from our own correspondent.)

December, 1895. -^For walking costumes, the tailor suit is as popular as ever, in fact one may Bay that it is the only recognised form of dreß9 for the streets. The jackets are of various stiapes but those that are finding most favour are the military coat and V6Bt. Thin corduroy costumea are also making an effort to please, but somehow they cannot take the place of the plain cloth or tweed for practical light walking suits. Hats are prettier than ever, and the somewhat summery note that is always introduced in this time of the year has a most pleasing effect. Tulle is undoubtedly the trimming of the season. Toques are of green velvet, the brim is of astrakan, and at the sides a couple of little black heads with open jaws disclosing a bright red tongue; an original aigrette and a . couple of Japanese Chrysanthemums * complete this new fashioned coifure. Perfumed Christmas cards are the dernier cri in the way of offering the compliments of the season. These cards scented with a penetrating but delicate perfume can be retained as sachets for gloves, lace and linen. It is only during the last years that Parisians in imitation of their Eng« lish neighbours send to friends acid acquaintances cards as a New Year's offering but nowadays it has become quiet fashionable, and there is not a fHvpstt, rie in the capital, where during the Christmas and New Year's holidays, not a fine exhibition of cards are exposed as e'talaze.
