Narrow Escape of a British Warship.
• H.M.S. Rupert, 6440 tons, while on a voyage to Gibraltar, shipped enormous seas owing to her turret flaps being defective, and the stokers were working knee deep in water. The pumps beoame choked with coal dust, and the vessel had a narrow escape from foundering. She will return to Plymouth to effect repairs. — Press Association.
