Adjourned to next Court day on application of plaintiff. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. A. 8. Biss v. John Anderson. — Claim £28 11s 4d. Order made by consent that the debt be paid at the rate of £1 per month. First payment on Ist February. CBIMINAL. Tatana te Whafcaupoko charged by Hohipa Miiai with having done wilful damage to a wire fence at Porotawhao on the 16b day of October, 1895. Mr Ray appeared for Hohipa and Mr Franklin appeared for Tatana. Defendant was fined Is ; costs, 288 ; 50s damages ; Interpreter's fee, 18s 8d ; solicitor's fee, 21s. SCHOOL CASES. J. T. Ray, Clerk to the Foxton School Committee v. George Coley. Mr Ray sued George Coley for the recovery of a penalty for neglecting to send a child to school. Mr Coley did not appear but Mr Ray informed the Court that Mr Coley had told him he would see that the child did attend school in the future. His Worship inflicted the penalty of sixpence a week for the five weeks proved absences. He however intimated that it future cases he would inflict the fullest penalty allowed by the Act. Same v. John Anderson for same offence. Mr Anderson appeared and admitted the child's absence but "promised to see that she should attend better in future. Fined 2s 6d for five week's absences at 6d per week. Same v. E. Batfcersby, same offence. No appearance of defendant. Ordered to pay 2s 6d for five week's absences. Same v. Arthur Reeves, same offence Mrs Reevea appeared and stated the child had been ill. (It was proved by Mr Stewart that the child ' had been absent months.) She acknowledged that for the last three weeks the child could have attended school. Fined Is. Same v. John Anderson, same offence.
