Foxton Borough Council.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Council was held at the Library buildings last night. Present —The Mayor (T. P. Williams) Crs Border, Hennessy, Bradcock, Walsh, Westwood and Osborne. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The usual accounts were passed for payment. The following resolutions were proposed : — Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Border, "That tendera be called for lighting the streets and collecting the dog tax for the year 1896. Tenders to be sent in not : later than 11 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday the 18th day of December.— Carried. Proposed by Cr Bradcock, seconded by Cr Border, That ranging be suspended between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. from date to the first of February, 1896.— Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, . seconded \ iby Cr Border, That; Mr. Al zdorfs suggestions re marking sites on plan of cemetry be carried oufc and that. Cr Border, Bradcock and Osborne be a committee fco superintend the running through of parallel lines and pegging off same with the surveyor. Objection having been. raised the question was put to the vote when the Mayor and Crs Border and Bradcock voted for it and Crs Weatwood, Osborne, Hennessy and Walsh voted against it, the resolution Was therefore lost. ■M_______ME-9____S ''"S2 *222
