Doctor's Meeting.
■ A meeting of the committee ol the Doctor's Guarantee Fund was held at Mr Ray's house last evening. Present— Messrs Curtis, Hennessy, Little, Eay, Stansell, and Stewart. Mr Bay introduced to the committee Dr W. Lamb, of Petone, who had been recommended to the committee as a thoroughly steady doctor, married and with a family. Dr Lamb is a Bachelor of Medi* cine and Master in Surgery of the University of Edinburgh where he graduated in 1875. He was regis teredinthe New Zealand Eegister of Medical Practitioners on 11th January 1882. He practised in Dunedin from 1882 to 1894, when he removed to Petone where he acted as hewn tenens for Dr Whitehead until February last. Having had a succession of attacks from influcoca he was ordered to take a voyage to England. He was absent for 8 months and returned to New Zea« land last week by the " Ruapehu." Dr Lamb produced to the committee highly satisfactory testimonials from Petone by Mr John MeGowan, Commissioner of Taxes, and Mr R. C. Kirk (Kirk and Atkinson), and others and from Dunedin by Dr Colquhoun, M.D. Lecturer in the Practice of Medicine in the Otago University, and Dr Brown, M.B. and CM. also Lecturer at the Otago Uiversity. The committee having considered the testimonials cordially invited Dr Lamb to take up his residence in Foxton, which he consented to do. He will reside in the house lately occupied by Mr J. R. McMillan. Dr Lamb has a wife and a family of four daughters and three sons, and proposes to take up his residence here in about a week's time.
