1.0. G.T.

♦ The members of the local lodge of Good Templars visited the Levin lodge, fraternally, last Tuesday even ing, and were recorded a very hearty reception by the members of the ••Flower of Levin" Lodge. The visitors did a large share in entertaining with speeches, songs, recitations, dialogues, etc , and one special item is worthy of recording, that of a brother who recited " The House that Jack built," the last version with variations, and we would recommend any future concert committee to extend an invitation to that gentleman to entertain a Foxton audience. Bro. Westweod, sen. was in good form and giving an address in reply to a welcome speech from the Levin brethren, gave an admirable rendering of the piece ••Deacon Stout" or " Bistorico, Vaporioiu, Hypomegrim?' which brought down the house. The visitors were then entertained with an excellent spread of refreshments, •• which cheere but not inebriate." The visitors drove over in a brake kindly lent by Mrs kangley, and! others on horseback and traps, and returned, after spending a most enjoyable evening, in the " sma' " hours of the morni% A return visit is expected shortly.
