Sir Walter Buller at the Bar of the House.
On Friday night the Minister of Lands thought fit to make a most desperate attack on Sir Walter Buller, using language which only the privileges of Parliament saved him from an action from Sir Walter Bailor.
Certain letters passed between Sir Walter and the Minister of Lands and the Premier, and yesterday morning the Minister of Lands moved ihxt Sir Walter bad been guilty of a breach of the privileges p{' the House. Sir Walter was called upon, at 7-30 last night to appear at the bar and show why he should not be punished. Sir Walter Bailer made a capital statement lasting over an hour and a half and carried tha House with him. At its conclusion ha ; was examined by the Minister and still
scored.
Sir Walter then retired and the Premier moved that he' be admonished only, he having expressed his regret at having committed a breach. Moat of the members seemed to think the Minister was to blame, but the Hon. Mr McKenzie rose and stated he still held to his opinion of Sir Walter, and that he believed the statement made by Sir Walter at the Bar fully corroborated him.
The motion was carried unanimously and Sir Walter was called in and informed of the motion and discharged from farther attendance.
There is no doubt the Government once again made a miserable example of themselves.
