Guessing Competition
• The- stock used for tho guessing competition at the Palnierston Show was slaughtered on Friday morning by Mr Parkins, bUKlhen The total weight of the five pheep was d9olbsj 6r an average of 1181bs each, and the bullock weighed 8691b5. Messrs A. Hastie (Manaia) and A. McKenzie (Wairarapa) guessed the exact weight of the five sheep, and divided the first and second prizes. The highest gufess was 713 and the lowest 205. The total number of guesse3 recorded for sheep was 245, and the amount taken £12 53.
For tho bullock Messrs B. Hull (Wanganui) and $. Bartlett (Dane* virke) guessed 8671bs and Mr J. Bull (Bulls) guessed 8691b5. The three gentlemen being within lib of the exact weight, 868! b^, divided Ist and 2nd prizes. The highest guess was 1308 and the lowest 692. The total number of guesses recorded for the bullock was SCO, and the amount taken £18 6s. Several guesses were within a pound of the winners.
