Mukaka River Board.
A meeting of the above was held this morning at 10.30 at the Library Buildings. Present — R. Gardner (chairman), and Messrs Gower, Langdon, Nye and Carter. I The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The Committee appointed . at the i last meeting reported that they had not received one signature for consent to proposed loan. | The following resolutions were pasaedi-— Proposed by B. Q. Gower, seconded by W. Laugdon, That rate* payers in arrears be requested to I pay their rates within one month | from date, and the Board be wound [ up as soon as the rates are all paid. Proposed by E. Gardner, seconded by G. Nye, That as the necessary number of ratepayers cannot be obtaioed to secure the assent to a loan, it has been resolved to abolish the Board, but before carrying that imo force it is necessary that all rates be paid, and that the Board has decided all and any rates not paid after th) 10th of October next be sued for.
