Messrs Wilson and Williams interviewed the Minister for Marine immediately afterwards and he agreed to wire up to Capfc. PJarvey at Napier, where 'the Queen of the South was to bring down some strong harrows from Napier and make the experiment that Captain Harvey had suggested at the previous deputation, on the sand bank to see if it can be shifted. The cost of experiment not to be more thaa £35. [The pilot informs us that the river on Thursday has cleared the bank away, and nothing is now needed to improve it ]
