« FOXTON v. PAIAKA. On Saturday the local team journeyed to Paiaka and suffered defeat by a try to nil. The Paiaka men had the best of the game throughout and kept Foxton in their 26*8 the whole time. Little description of the game is needed as the Fof ton. .. men were ever on the defensive and seemed to have all their work cut out to stand on their feet on account of the muddy state of ttle" ground. Cole haijjl the misfortune to sprain his arm and . had to leave the field while A. Bhadbolt and A. After the match they were asked to partake of tea and were again provided with tverything necessary for the inner man/ The team then returned to Foxton thoroughly satisfied that there's no place like Paiaka for a good toy's outing. Mr G. A. Harrison made a very efficient referee and Messrs Timmins and Bills acted as line umpires.
