Coyle be elected handicapper on the same terms as Mr «J. E. Henry. As an amendment to which it was proposed by Mr Rhodes and seconded by Mr Purcell, That the appointment of handicapper be left to the committee. Thynne, F. Jenks.F. E. Young, 0. Harrison, H. Border and A. E. T. Nixon. It was resolved that the annual dinner be not held this year. Mr Gray proposed and Mr Nixon seconded that the annual subscription be reduced to half a guinea. After discussion the motion was not carried. Mr Thynne said that he had to propose a vote which he believed would be unanimously endorsed, namely, a vote of thanks to the late secretary, Mr McMillan. He bet lieved the members thoroughly ftp* preciated the services he had rendered to the Club, which had tertainly prospered under his management. He regretted Mr McMillan'f departure from the; town which thai necessitated the severance of nil connection with .the Club, and he be* lieved that it would only be right to suggest a sum out of which a suitable token might be purchased which could be retained by Mr MoMillan as a memento of his connection irith the Foxton Racing Club. The sum he was about to mention might to some appear high but it was similar to the amount proposed on a previous occasion and thus it appeared to be the sum the majority of the members thought fitting on such an occasion. He would therefore move— That a hearty vote of thankg be accorded to the late Secretary, MrMcMillan, and that a sum of £20 be set aside to purchase a suitable present to be given him. (Applause). Mr Ahem seconded the motion. On the motion being put to the meeting it was carried unanimously, Mr McMillan thanked the meeting for the vote and appreciated the manner in which his services had been recognised. He regretted that business compelled his relinquishing the position of Secretary which had given him much pleasure in attend* ing to. Though no longer Seoretary he still intended to remain a member of the Club and would be glad to render any assistance to the newly appointed secretary. He agaio thanked them. (Applause). Mr Ahem proposed and Mr Spel* man seconded That the Secretary's honorarium be £30 for the year. As an amendment to which Mr Dudson proposed and Mr Easton seconded That the Honorary Secretary receive £ 20 for the first race meeting and £10 for the second meeting. On a vote being taken the amend* ment was carried. On the m jtion of Mr Thynne seconded by Mr Border a hearty vote • of thanks was accorded to the officials for their services during the past year. A prop-sal to reduce the charges for l lie Grandstand and Saddling ' Paddock to 7* Od was lost. A vole of ibanks to the chair con* eluded the meetiug. *
