Mukaka River Board.
The above Board met afc the Library 'Buildings ihis morning, at 10.80 a.m. Present — Messrs B. Gardner (chairman), Nye, Langdon, Gower and Carter. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read:— f; ; - . From A. Saunders, calling attention to necessity of continuing con•tract No, |8. ; If contractor cannot carry out t|ie work he would do the game for £20. It waa rumoured the Boarcl~could not see it? way to do more, it hard as the river ;sjßffei : very strongly just beside the, house. If the Board cannot complete the whole of No 8 con* tract he would strongly urge that they carry it to the end of section No. 01, the work for which he would oarry out for £11. Strang Bros., stating a contractor had pulled down one of their fences and requesting the Board to have the feike' replaced at once. Also asking the Board to deduct 23s from J. Julian the contractor that put up the bank for the board as they had arranged, with him and the amount could bis placed to their oredit, Proposed by B. Gower, seconded by W. Langdon, That Julian's account be passed for payment subject tb his repairing Mr Strang's fence and leave it the same as it was beforf he started his contraot. — Carried. Accounts for contracts and expenses were passed for payment amounting to £128 10s 6d. No objections were lodged against ihe classification of land in the district.
