At Derby, Primrose, Conservative, and Drage, Oonservative v were returned, defeating Sir W. V. Harcourtj the late Chancellor of the Exchequer, by 840 and 282 respectively. For Manchester East, the Right Hon. A. J. Balfour defeated Professor Joseph E. C. Munro, Liberal, by 116. The present totals are J — Liberals 10 Conservatives . . 96 Parnellites . . . 4 The Unionists have returned 76 unopposed, and their gain at present is eight, while they have lost one seat. Leonard Harper has been remanded, on bail of £10,000, including himself in £5000. all of which is forthcoming.
