Foxton Borough Council.
I — + The ordinary monthly meeting was Held at the Library Buildings last night at 7.30. Present— The Mayor (T. P. Williams), Grs Jenks, Hamer, Bradcock and Westwood. The newly-elected Councillor, Mr J. W. Walsh, made the usual declaration, and took* his seat. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, and correspondence received was read. - *" Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Jenka, That Councillors Jenkf, Bradcock, Hamer and the overseer make arrangements to get trees transplanted in the reserve. — Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Jenks, That this Council concur with the opinion expressed in resolution passed by the Woodvillo Borough Council to the effect that a B,sth majority of votes decidef-tjiie poll, and that absentee ratepayers' votes should not be recorded so as to be enabled to raise loans for toecessary works, and that Mr J. dt. Wilson, M.H.R,, be requested ho support any measure brought before the House in the' direction } tedi* ij cated.-rCarried. . ..:-. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Hamer, That Mr A. Jdnfson ... get a board for cemetery painted also the seats, as mentioned in Cemetery report.— Carried. Proposed by Cr Bradcock, seconded by Or Hamer, That the Mayor be requested to represent this Council at the annual meeting of the Municipal Association to be held at Wellington, this Council defraying expenses of same not to exceed £5. — Carried. The following accounts were passed for payment : — General Account—J. Sullivan, £6 2s 6d; C. Spring, £7 ; R. H. Barber, 13s ; T. F. Gibson, £6 ss; Manawatw Hebald, £6 16s; Hennessy & Co., £2 12s 6d ; W. T. Little, £8 8s 6d ; Palmerston North Hospital and Charitable Aid Account, £29 8s 6d ; Horowhenua County Council, half-share ferry account, £38 5a 3d ; Charitable aid, rations to Mrs Boesen, £1 4s.
