*. The usual monthly meeting was held at the Library Buildings last night. Present -The Mayor (T. P. Williams), Grs Jenks, Westwood, Bradcock and Hamer. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the correspondence was also read. The following accounts were passed for payment :— T. F. Gibson, £6 5a ; S M. Court fees, 93 ; J. Sullivan, £6 12s 6d; C. Spring, £1 16s; S. Wilson, 12s 6d ; M. Herald, £7 183 ; P. Guerin, £Q 11s 3d ; same (dog tax), £2 Is 8d ; Insurance, £1 ; Charitable Aid rations to Mrs Bosen, £1 2s 9d. Library account — H. Blake, 16s 8d ; Rhodes £ Co., 153. Cemetery account — James Coley, £2 83 ; P. Williams, £2 03 6d. Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cr Bradcock, That the sexton be instructed to replace pegs on all the graves in the cemetery now without them, and that a better system of numbering the various graves be adopted, and Councillors Jenks, Bradcock and Hamer be a committee to carry out the same. Car . v ried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Jenks, That arrangements be made with Mr Alzdorf for making and numbering the graves on the plan of (he cemetery. Carried.

Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Bradcock, That a general rate of one shilling and three pence in the pound sterling be levied on the rateoble value of all properties within the Foxton Borough Council dis- > trict, from the Ist day of April, 1895, to the 81st day of March, 1896, such rate to become due add payable in one instalmedt on the 17th day of June, 1895, at the Fox ton Borough Council office. Proposed by Cr Westwood, seconded by Or Bradcock, That the resignation of Councillor Austin be accepted with regret, add that a letter be sent by the clerk, thanking him for his services to the Borough. Carried. Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cr Westwood, That Mrs Austin's letter re drain 3be received, add that Crs Bradcock, Hamer add the Mayor be a committee to inspect came on Saturday next. Carried. Proposed by Cr Westwood, se« conded by Cr Hamer, That the clerk bo instructed to write to Mr F. J. France, in answer to letter re* ceived, re the damage done to the cemetery by fire in connection with his contract. Carried. The following tedders were received for fencing about 19 chains on Target Reserve :— John Andrew, £3 ; James Andrew, £1 14s 6d ; A. and C. Morgan, £1 14s 6d ; P. Williams, £2 2s 9d ; J. McGiil, £1 18s ; H. Williams, 8s 6d per chain ; W. Nye, £2 2a ; Jacob and Walker, £8; W. Warburton, £1 19s 6d ; G. Warburton, £1 17s 6d ; J. Kruse, £8 17s 6d. For making, painting and writing fevvy board two tedders were received, viz., A. Speirs, £8 9s ; A. Jonson, £11 5s. .'.,.• Proposed by Cr Hamer, seconded by Cr Bradcock, That the tender of James Andrew for fencing at the Target Reserve for the sum of £1 14s 6d be accepted. Carried. Proposed by Cr Hamer, seconded by Cr Bradcoc'f, That the tedder of A. Speirs for making, painting, and writing the new ferry board, according to specification, at £8 da be accepted. Carried.
