A Sea Incident.

* •>• From Perth we get all the outlines of a romance which Clarke Russell could turn into a thrilling tale. The steamer Taghaeffero sighted the ship Aberfoyle off the coast flying signals of distress. On communicating with her it was ascertained that the vessel was bound from Fredericstadt to Melbourne with timber. Captain Robertson died mysteriously on May Ist, leav- j ing three orphan children aboard, while Norton, the first mate, was washed overboard shortly afterwards during a heavy gale. The vessel carried no second mate and the position was perilous, but the sailmaker volunteered to navigate the ship and brought her to the coast. The second mate of the Taghaeffero will navigate the vessel to Melbourne.
