Advanoe in Wheat.
The English wheat market shows a general advance of 6d. The American and Continental markets are also advancing with increased firmness. During the last few days the wheat market shows a marked im*. provement in Christohurch. On Saturday 10,000 bushels of inixed wheat were sold at a trifle over 8s Id f.o.b. Lyttelton, and on Monday the same firm sold 21,000 bushels at prices varying from 83 to 8s l£d, f.o.b. Lyttelton. There is a good deal of excitement in Dunedin on Monday among dealers in wheat, the priee of which has rapidly advanced. At auction on Monday, one firm sold a line of red straw from Wai*, runa at 89 6d per bushel. Another firm report the sale of Tuscan at 8s 4£d ; velvet, 8s 3|d ; medium velvet, 8s to 8s Id. — Press Associa* tion.
