Meeting re Doctor.
I^_ -^ The meeting, as advertised, wat held at the Library on Tuesday evening. There was not a large attendance. The following resolutions were passed : — That in the opinion of this meeting it is very desirable (here should be a resident Medical Practitioojr in Foxton. That with the view to secure the services of a Medical Practitioner, the residents of Foxton should raise a guarantee fund to secure the Doctor a certain income during the first two years. That steps be at onoe taken' to

lectire a resident Medical Practitioner in Foxton and that the Mayor and Messrs * Stansell, Walsh, Little, Henneesy. E. Osborne and Stewart be appointed a Committee to carry (his resolution into effect.
That this meeting acknowledge with thanks the services of Mr Curtis the late Secretary and hope that he will again act in that capacity. That* the first meeting of the Committee be held at Wbyte's Hotel on Friday next at 8 p.m. , A vote of thanks to the chait concluded the meeting.
