Armenia.
The Earl of Kinaberley, in reply to a deputation from those protesting against the atrocities by Turkish soldiery in Armenia, said the Im* perial Government was irrevocably pledged to undertake a thorough searching inquiry, and he trusted that the result of such would be a permanent remedy for the future. He intimated that France, Eussia ' and Germany were convinced of the necessity of reform. Such unanimity was very important, but great caution was requisite in dealing with the question. He said that extreme caution was necessary in dealing with the question, in order to avoid raising any serious trouble in the East. The efforts of 8h Philip H. Currie, British Ambassador in Constantinople, in bringing the matter before the Sultan were beyond praise.
