1.0. G.T.
Mr Crabb'a second meeting, in the Public Hall on Thursday night was by a large and appreciative audience. The orator was in great form,, and fully sustained his reputation for plain and forcible speaking. On this occasion he dealt mainly with the "Rights of the People" in endeavouring to secure Prohibition by the ballotbox, and at the close it was clear enough that he had the majority of the audience with him. We may perhaps be permitted to state that Mr Crabb's methods of securing and enforcing order are better fitted for meetings in the back slums of a great city than in quiet country towns ; but it must be admitted that at any rate he did seoure order and attention. It is rather a pity for the sake of his cause, that he does not use a little more^oi the suaviter in modo in hie style, and a good deal less of the fortiter in r*. The Rev. Mr Barnett again" occupied the chair.
