Justices Court.

Saturday, 80th March. (Before E. S. Thynne and T. P. Williams, Esq., J.s P. John Spelman was charged with that on the 26th day of March at Foxton, with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or do grievous bodily harm to Patrick Skillen. The witnesses called were Patrick Skillen and Alfred Shadbolt. Shadbolt's evidence went to show that the assault was really Skillen on Spelman, and that the wound was purely accidental. Constable Gillespie said that after Shadbolt's statement he would not proceed further in the matter, but believed the case needed inquiring into, owing to tho distorted reports afloat. The Bench then dismissed the case.
