News has been received thai; the insurgents in Colombia, South America, defeated the Government troops near the city of Cucnta, and followed up their victory by capturing the city. The Government troops lost 800 men in the engagement. Some miscreant in Jubbulpore displaced a rail on a railway line with the result that some of the carriages of a passing train were thrown over an embankment. Nine persons were killed.
