The Khedive has assured Lord Cromer that he will not make any changes in the Egyptian Ministry. News has been received that the British expedition in West Africa baa destroyed Zirabi, the chief town of the Biass district.
Among those killed in the attack was Lieutenant Taylor. The Negus of Abyssinia raided the Vollamo country, where his army killed 7000 natives and captured 15,000 slaves.
The Abyssinians lost 1000 men.
The ex-Queen Liliukalani pleaded guilty to a charge of participation in the recent revolt against the Go* , vernment in Hawaii.
She was sentenced to five years' imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of £1000.
Instead of the sentence of im? prison men t being carried into effect it is probable she will be deported from the island.
