Railway Excursion.
■. i ■ ■■» . ■ The .Chairman of the Foxton ftohopkCominittee aoting under inftroctions from his committee has been in correspondence with the Traffic Manager of the railway in reference to-having » railway excurf o{o9 under the new regulations. We am glad to be able to report * that though at first the instructions were not read by the Traffic Agent is the committee read them, all matters in question have been
tlettsafifcly arranged, and an exour*. sidti Will take place on Tuesday to Woodville. It has been made clear that all children can take part in it, and all children attending school, no matter their age, will be taken at the low rate. Teachers and parents of scholars, and all adults in chaige of children are also exceptionally treated. The fares will be, to Woodville and back — children ofle t shilling, adults two shillings. It is evident nothing could be much cheaper. The train will leave Fojton and atrive at Foxtotii at the usual hours, but instead of the iong tfait at £alitierßtonj a special Will be run from there to Woodvillej leaving f aliner&toti at 11 a.m. This slight delay appears unavoidable on a"cc"O(iflt of the regular traffic. Under these circumstances we trust that a good muster will be at the Foxton station, as under no other means could such a pleasant and unbroken trip be taken. The opportunity of passing through and viewing the Manawatu Gorge should not be missed* and if the day is fine a pleasant holiday can be looked forward tOi Of course there will be a holiday at the State School, and probably at the stores as well. It had better be kept in view that a basket of provisions will be found most desirable.
