" Day Break."
« The above is the name of the new paper just published by women for women. The paper was heralded as coming out under the title of the Emancipator, but a better choice was \ finally made. In the opening article the editress states " our principle wish is to yen» tilate the evils and grievances that exist in our midst, and to let not only men in Wellington, but New i Zealand, know that we do not intend to overstep the power we have received in having the franchise granted us by forgetting our sex and appearing in places where we shall not only be the laughing stock of the ill-natured but (which is far worse) merit the contempt of the wise and true." It is not the intention of the paper to champion solely women's rights, as it is admitted. " that our rights and happiness much depend on our husbands, brothers and sons." The political'views of the paper are in accord with those of the present Government. The paper is priced twopence, and was published on Saturday, but we failed to find any intimation as to the manner it will continue to be issued.
